About White Sage: White sage is a medicinal plant that is used all over the world and is considered Sacred for its natural healing abilities. It grows mainly in Mexico and California. Its healing properties are; physical healing & protection, environment purifier, spiritual healing tool, stress reducer, help us sleep better, and clears & prevents unwanted/negative energy.
About Palo Santo: Palo Santo is wood from the Bursera Graveolens Tree that grows in South America. In Spanish, Palo Santo means, "Holy Wood". When burned, it is an Energy Cleanser that has a wonderful scent! It has similar healing properties of Sage and the power to attract sacredness and benevolence into a space.
About Abalone Shells: Abalone shells come from the sea and are marine snails. They have a low, open spiral structure and are characterized by many open respiratory holes in a row near the shell's outer edge. This makes them great Energy Cleansing Tools because their holes allow the smoke from sage or palo santo to be released when placed in the shell. The inner layer of the shell is composed of “Mother of Pearl”, which is a highly iridescent changeable color that make the shell attractive as a decorative object!
About Selenite: We refer to Selenite as Crystal Sage! The energy of Selenite has the power to cleanse and clear our space, aura, and crystals of unwanted/negative energy in a very similar way that Sage does. Selenite is excellent at moving stagnant blocked energy in the body and releases healthy negative ions into the environment.
About Crystals: Crystals can receive, store, and transmit energy. For this reason, it is necessary to cleanse/clear your crystals once you receive them and when you feel they could use a good cleansing/clearing. At Metaphysical Marla our go to cleansing/clearing method is Smudging! We like to use the smoke of White Sage or Palo Santo.
About Smudging: Burning herbs like White Sage and Palo Santo Wood is known as Smudging. It is an ancient Spiritual Ritual that was originated by the Native Americans. Smudging has antimicrobial and purifying properties that cleanse energy, objects, and spaces. Burning White Sage is believed to clear out Spiritual impurities, pathogens, and even insects.
Burning Sage releases negative ions into the air.....Negative Ions create Positive Vibes! Negative ions combat positive ion allergens like pet dander, pollution, dust, and mold. Burning Sage is a blessing for people with asthma, allergies, bronchitis, and other respiratory conditions, but inhaling it can cause aggravation to respiratory conditions... They must wait until the smoke clears before going into a room that has been Smudged.
Smudging Crystals releases any unwanted/negative energy in the crystal that it may have picked up from its surroundings or while it was doing its healing/balancing work. It also charges the crystal! When the unwanted energy is released, the crystal naturally charges.
When using Crystals on the body for Crystal Healing or when carrying them around with you, the crystals are metaphysically (energetically) sending and transmitting their healing properties to you and simultaneously absorbing and receiving any unwanted or imbalanced energy from you.
You can cleanse your space at home or even your car! From my experience, Smudging is the most effective space clearing method. If the energy in your home or car feels thick and heavy, Smudge It! It will Lighten up the Energy.
You can also Smudge your Aura! Auras are in constant communication with energetic vibrations and frequencies of everything around us. This energy can either make us feel well or unwell. A simple and quick way to cleanse our energy is by Smudging to purify, renew and revitalize our aura!
How To Use This Kit: Place the Abalone Shell on the stand in a Safe Space to create what I like to call, “The Energy Cleansing Station”! Then, place the Palo Santo Wood, Sage, or both in the shell.
When you are ready to cleanse/clear your crystals, simply light either the wood or sage until you can see smoke being emitted from it. Gently blow out the flame and hold the wood or sage under the crystal so that the smoke goes up and around the crystal. While you are smudging, you can say out loud or silently to yourself, release any unwanted energy from this crystal. Or anything you feel called to say.
For Smudging your home, car, or aura, carefully guide the smoke around the area you want to cleanse. Make sure you catch any embers that may fall in the Abalone Shell.
When you are finished smudging, extinguish the wood or sage in the shell and keep your eye on it to be sure the flame is fully out before leaving the area. Open the windows to release the smoke.
*Caution Advisory: White Sage, Palo Santo, & Incense Sticks used for Smudging are a Flammable Heat Source and can cause a Fire Hazard. Please be sure to Take Extra Care and Be Aware when using these products by doing the following: Make sure there is no air draft (fans on or open windows) in the area being smudged, even the slightest breeze can cause the embers to waft or drift into the air. Open the windows when smudging is completed to release smoke.
People with asthma, allergies, bronchitis, and other respiratory conditions should avoid inhaling the smoke during smudging. The smoke can aggravate any respiratory condition. Wear a smoke-proof mask if necessary while smudging and wait until the smoke clears before going into the area smudged.
