Obsidian is a mineral-like, naturally-occurring material with no internal crystalline structure. It is Amorphous in nature and is categorized as a Mineraloid. Obsidian is formed from Natural Volcanic Glass and although it's not categorized as a crystal, it still has Many Powerful Metaphysical Properties!
Although Obsidian is a Mineraloid, it still undergoes the same tumbling process as crystals. Obsidian follows the same Metaphysical cleansing, intention setting, and other practices as crystals do. It's like a Crystal Cousin!

About Tumbled Crystals/Mineraloids:
Tumbled crystals are known as the "Stepping Stones" into the Crystal World! They are the crystals that almost everyone starts with. They are small and can be carried around with you everywhere you go! Plus, they are inexpensive, travel well, are durable and don't break easily. It is also easier to find a specific crystal in tumbled form rather than a larger or shaped piece.
Tumbled crystals have been put through a process called, "Tumbling" with materials that smooth their edges and give them a nice rounded glossy surface. They have a subtler energy than rough crystals, that have a strong, powerful, and direct energy. Tumbled crystals have a soft gentle energy that is not as intense, that allows the energy to radiate from the center of the crystal and move in all directions in an even manner. This is why they are called the “Stepping Stones”, their soft subtle energy is very comforting to those who are new to the world of crystals!
* 3 Helpful Steps for anyone who is new to crystals/mineraloids:
Step 1: Use your intuition to see which crystal you are drawn to.
Step 2: Look up the crystal’s properties and ask yourself if these properties could help or benefit you.
Step 3: Carry that crystal with you for a couple days and see if you can feel a slight change or shift in your energy. Notice, if you are picking up the energetic (metaphysical) properties of the crystal.

What to do with your crystals/mineraloids once they arrive?
*An excellent practice is to cleanse/clear your crystals once you receive them and when you feel they could use a good cleansing/clearing. My go to cleansing/clearing method is smudging! Smudging naturally releases any unwanted/negative energy in the crystal that it may have picked up from its surroundings. It also charges the crystal! I like to use the smoke of palo santo or sage. There are many other cleansing/clearing methods, choose which one feels best for you!
*Another great practice is to set an intention for your crystal! Just hold the crystal and say your intention out loud or silently to yourself. I like to repeat it 3 times. Focus on the connection between your words and the crystal, imagine the words being absorbed into it… and Voila! Your crystal intention is set. An intention could be, I want this crystal to bring wanted/positive energy and calming vibes into my life. Or anything your heart desires! Every time you see the crystal, you will be reminded of the intention you set for it.
Please Note: No two crystals/mineraloids are the same. The color, size, or shape of each crystal/mineraloid will vary due to them being natural minerals from the Earth. Some crystals/mineraloids may have small natural chips in them from being harvested from the Earth and then tumbled or polished for smoothness.
